there is no better armor, but what i normally use is, knockdown gloves, glads chest and legs, and knights boots(for the overall reduction).

Gladiators armor in my opinion, gives you 100AL against physical dmg (80+20=100), makes you have 27 energy, and in my opinion looks best

With Droknar armor I first used platemail armor with knight boots, but later on switched to gladiator armor with knight boots. You don't really notice the armor difference from platemail to gladiator (at least I didn't) but the +7 energy is a substantial boost for a warrior.

+Weapon Helm, Knight's Boots, Gladiator's Chest + Leggings and Gladiator's Gauntlets/Stoneskin, (or Stonefist?) gloves is usually the best choice for a warrior.

Keep in mind that I'm very new to all this....
I've seen folks walking around Yak's Bend (yes, that's where I am at level 13... can you tell I'm new?) with armor that looks fitting for someone of around level 20. How are they doing this? Where are they getting it? How much does something like that cost? And what do people mean when they talk about 1.5k armor and such? Is that the cost? Sorry for asking such newb questions, but I really have no clue here. I have Gladiator everything (armor, gauntlets, leggings, etc) and that's it. I feel like I'm underpowered compared to some folks I see lumbering around at around my level. |

They get run to Droknar's. Mind you, you don't really need Droknar's armor around there.

For highest AL overall - Platemail.
For highest AL vs. Physical - Gladiator. For decent AL plus damage reduction - Knight. To get the benefits of the three, mix/match. |

When people talk about "1.5K armor", they are referring to the gold cost to craft the armor. Like each piece of armor will cost 1.5K gold from Droknar's Forge - thus it's called "1.5K armor". So when people say "15K armor" they are talking about armor's that will cost 15K gold per piece. These cost's completely ignore cost of getting the relevant crafting materials for the armor. Don't worry about what other people are weaing - the armor your wearing is just fine for where you are. As you progress through the game you'll have the chance to upgrade your armor along the way as crafter's will crop up offering higher AL armor's for you. The game provides you with the relevant AL you need at each stage of the game.. assuming you want to upgrade your armor at each crafter along the way. Seriously though.. if your new I'd advise against being "run" anywhere in the game and definately advise against getting Droknar's armor on your first run through. Play the game through with the armor provided and then decide later if you want to get run anywhere or such.. IMO you'll get a much more enjoyable experience this way... whereas if you go get the best AL armor in the game.. you'll find the game boring as most critter's will do basically no damage for you and you'll just be able to steamroll through a portion of the game... BORING if you ask me... Also consider that the cost is 1.5K * 5.. which is 7.5K gold.. and if you have to buy all your materials your looking at another 20-30K gold ontop of that 7.5K ... so unless your rich... don't bother... oh and you'll prolly need 2-4K to get run to Droknar's anyways :P And the best armor has already been said: Gladiator's Chest, Gladiator Leggings, Stonefist or Gladiator Gauntlets (depends on whether your using knockdown or not) and Knights Boots. |

Mixing armor...doesn't that affect how good it works in a bad way? I used to mix platemail and knights, but then someone told me not to do it cause it makes it work worse or something like that.....

Thanks for the info, Kamatsu. I just logged in to find out what I had to see what you guys thought:
Tower Shield (purple font) Armor 12 Received damage -1 while in stance Wyvern Helm of Minor Axe Mastery Armor 55 Strength +1 Improves Axe Mastery Armor +10 vs physical Gladiator Hauberk of Minor Vigor Energy +3 Armor 50 Increases maximum health Armor +20 vs physical Gladiator Gauntlets of Minor Absorption Energy +1 Armor 50 Reduces damage from attacks Armor +20 vs physical Gladiator's Leggings of Minor Vigor (can you have more than one rune of the same type benefit you?) Energy +2 Armor 50 Increases maximum health Armor +20 vs physical Gladiator's Boots Energy +1 Armor 50 Armor +20 vs physical Furious Battleaxe of Charrslaying Damage 5 - 12 Double adrenaline on hit Damage +15% vs Charr Damage +20% And I have under 1000 gold (I'm soooo poor after buying the armor). Is this stuff decent enough for a level 13 Warrior/Ranger like myself? |

That's good enough, yes. You'll find better armor as you play through the game. The answer to your rune question is no, you can only have one rune of each attribute. For example, if you have 2 runes of minor vigor, you'll only get +30 health. However, if you have a minor plus a major/superior one, you'll get the benefit of the superior one.

Mixing armor's can make the best armor - in fact the best armor as it stands right now is a set of mixed armor's. However you can mix armor's and get a really terrible result if you mixxed the wrong piece's. Bastard Son - About the only thing's I'd consider changing in that setup is to replace the boots with either Ascalon or Knights boots (Ascalon if you don't have access to Knights.. Ascalon armor (apart from helm) has the same -2 damage absorbtion that Knights has) as well as replacing your helm with a Executioner's Helm (+1 Axe iirc). The helm thing can be a personal issue though as some swear by +1 weapon helms while other swear by +1 strength or tactic's helms. So really, keep the helm which fits your build and setup best. And as RaZoO said, only 1 rune of each attribute/type will apply, and only the best. You can have 5 runes of Minor Vigor equipped, but you'll still only get the benefit from 1 of those runes. Same as if you have a minor, major and superior rune of vigo equipped.. you will only get the benefit from the sup rune, the major and minor rune are wasted. And 1 final thing with runes - Runes of Absorbtion do stack with the absorbtion given from shields and knights/ascalon armor. |

Thanks for all the help, everyone! I'll keep the helmet tip in mind, Kamatsu, and I'll be sure to remember the rune thing. Learn the hard way, I suppose.
